auf dem Weg zu Elena habe ich noch einen kleinen Zwischenstopp eingelegt.

Patricia wollte mir nicht zumuten, in einem dunklen Päckchen nach Amerika zu fliegen. Also bin ich mit ihrem Kollege Dirk nach Florida geflogen und durfte mir dort mit ihm Fort Myers anschauen.

Patricia didn't want me to fly to America in a dark parcel. So I flew to Florida with her workmate Dirk and he allowed me to visit Fort Myers with him.

Ihr seht mich hier bei dem Monument des 2. Regiments farbiger Truppen. Ich finde, wir zwei sehen richtig gut aus.
Aber jetzt geht es schnurstracks nach Midland in Michigan. Elena wartet bestimmt schon.

But now I'm going straight to Midland in Michigan. I'm afraid Elena is already waiting for me.
