IRONteddys at the IRONMAN Nightrun!

Traditionally three days prior to the Ironman Germany the Helaba Nightrun took place on July 20 th , 2006.

Over 400 Teams were at the start and they did not care very much about the high temperature. The run is a relay of 3 x 5 km with no time recording, because it is just for fun.

Markus, Juergen and Schmudi participated in the big event and took part as the IRONteddy-Team. With Regina and the Teddy-Trainer Markus as fans, there were five people wearing our IRONteddy-Shirts on this day.

The unbelievable heat was very hard to bear for the athletes. But the runners and the fans made such a big party that there was a very good mood among the whole audience.

Markus started the run. Everybody got a small spirit of the Ironman Germany, because the 15 km were arranged on the original course of the European Championship at the river Main in Frankfurt.

After 25 Minutes Markus had taken the 5 km and was very soaked with sweat. Now the part was on Juergen. The high temper and the very good musik let the time go by very quickly. So Juergen was back very fast in the transition area, also singed of the big heat. Now he sent Schmudi to absolve the last 5 km part.

Out of the stands, Regina and Markus shouted and cheered for their IRONteddy-Team to support them - and it seemed to work. After a total time of 1:15 hours our last man crossed the finishing line and Schmudi could dig into the cold drinks for the runners.

After the run the IRONteddy-Team celebrated their powerful performance and enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere. But the tropical weather took its toll, and after a short while the IRONteddys went home very tired but also very proud.
