Liebe IRONteddy-Freunde,
kaum aus London zurück, bin ich direkt weiter nach Köln gefahren. Ist zwar nicht ganz so groß wie London, und ich war auch nur für einen Tag dort, aber eine Menge zu sehen gibt es trotzdem! Hier seht ihr mich vor dem Kölner Dom - der war soooo groß, dass er gar nicht richtig auf's Bild gepasst hat! Und ich mir davor noch viiiiiiel kleiner vorkam...

Dear IRONteddy-friends,
hardly back from London, I continued my journey to Cologne in Germany. It's definitely not as large as London, and I visited it for only one day, but anyways there's a lot to see! You can see me in front of the cathedral of Cologne on this picture - it was that large, it wouldn't fit into the photo! And I felt soooooo small in front of it!

Natürlich konnte ich Köln nicht verlassen, ohne den Dom auch mal betreten zu haben. Drinnen war gerade ein Gottesdienst (es war Sonntag), und fotografieren durfte man auch nicht - aber hier seht ihr mich vor dem Haupteingang, zusammen mit vielen anderen Touristen. ;-)

Of course I couldn't leave Cologne without having a look at the inside of the cathedral. As it was a Sunday morning, there was a service inside, and you weren't allowed to take photos. But on this picture you can see me in front of the main entrance, accompanied by lots of other tourists. ;-)

Was man allerdings betreten (und fotografieren) durfte, war der westliche Turm des Doms. Aufzüge sucht man dort leider vergeblich, ich musste ganz schön viele Stufen hochkraxeln, um die Glocke zu erreichen! Wenigstens hat sie nicht geläutet, während ich dort war, da wären mir wohl meine Hundeohren weggeflogen! Aber: Ich war noch längst nicht oben, danach kamen noch mal gaaaanz viele Stufen!

What you were allowed to visit (and take photos of) was the westward steeple of the cathedral. As there is no lift, me poor dog had to climb hundreds and hundreds of steps to reach the bell. Fortunately, it didn't ring as long as I was there - my dog-ears would have been deaf! But: I wasn't at the top for a long time yet, lots of steps followed after it!

Endlich wieder unten und ganz schön außer Puste, musste ich erst einmal eine Pause am Rheinufer in der Kölner Altstadt einlegen. Das Wetter war toll, und so war es sehr angenehm, sich ein wenig in die Sonne zu setzen. Ich bin gespannt, wohin es mich als nächstes verschlägt!

Finally back downstairs and completely short of breath, I had to take a break at the bank of the river Rhine in the old town of Cologne. Weather was great, so that it was really nice to sit down in the sun. I'm anxious to see where my next journey takes me!
