Hallo meine lieben Ironteddies!
Susie meldet sich mal wieder. Nachdem ich in Nevada und am Lake Tahoe
war, hab ich doch glatt die Gelegenheit genutzt und hab mich in den Zug
nach San Franciso - oder wie die Amis hier sagen - Frisco gesetzt. Ich
habe dort ein Wochenende verbracht und in dem berühmt berüchtigten York
Hotel geschlafen, hier wurden Szenen von Vertigo gedreht.
Das erste Bild zeigt mich, nachdem ich die "Lombard Street" hochgelaufen
bin. Das ist diese kurvige Straße in der Mitte von San Francisco, ihr
kennt die bestimmt auch von Filmen. Im Hintergrund ist die San Francisco
Bay.

Dear fellow Teddies,
I just wanted to send a quick note again. After gambling and skiing in
Tahoe, I was able to catch a train to San Francisco, or Frisco - as
everyone says here. I spent a whole weekend there, and the weather was
gorgeous. And mind, this is very special for San Francisco, because
usually this city is covered in fog most of the time. I stayed at
the "York Inn" - parts of 'Vertigo' were filmed there.
The first picture shows me after crawling up the famous "Lombard Street"
in San Francisco, it is this curvy road which you know from movies. In the
background you can see San Francisco Bay.

Das zweite Bild zeigt mich vor der Golden Gate Bridge. Die große rote im Hintergrund. Ich bin auch drüber gefahren, hatte aber leider meinen Foto vergessen.

The second picture is me in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, the big red
bridge in the background. I have actually driven over it, but I forgot my
camera when I did so. Sorry!

Hier bin ich am Pier 39, der Sammelplatzt für Seelöwen aller Art. Man
nennt sie auch Frisco Lions. Hier sind sie vor der Strömung und vor Haien
in der Bucht sicher. Aber die machen einen Lärm, die kämpfen und die
stinken!!!

Here you see me at Pier 39. This is where all the Sea-Lions - the Frisco
Seals - gather. It is great! They make a lot of noises, they fight and
they stink! They come here because the current in the bay is so strong,
and at Pier 39, they are safe from sharks! They just lay in the sun and
enjoy life. Great!

Nach einem anstrengenden Sightseeing und Shopping Tag muss man sich auch
mal ein Glas kalifornischen Rotwein gönnen.

And of course, after a long day of sightseeing and shopping, what could
be better than a glass of Californian Red Wine...

Danach hatte ich Hunger, und ich bin in ein Diner gegangen um natürlich
einen Cheeseburger zu essen und einen Milchshake zu trinken. Und da stand
da dieses alte Auto rum...ich finde, dieses mintgrün passt gut zu meiner
Schleife...

After the wine, I needed some food, so I went to a diner and had a milkshake and a cheeseburger. And then there was this great car in the middle of the restaurant...I think this minty color fits my red badge...

Am nächsten morgen bin ich dann mit dem Schiff nach Alcatraz gefahren.
Super schön, richtig unheimlich. So muss sich Al Capone gefühlt haben...

The next morning I took a boat trip to Alcatraz! Very interesting. This is how Al Capone felt... scary! I am glad that I am a good cat!

Und dann war ich noch im HOOTERs und habe mich mal auf diese schöne
Harley gesetzt...ich muss mir auch eine kaufen, wenn ich wieder zurück
bin. Tausendmal schöner als mit dem Tria-Rad durch die Gegend zu fahren!!!

And at the very last picture, you can see me on a Harley in one of the
HOOTERs Restaurants. I think I might get one of these when I get back
home...way better than riding your road-bike...
Ok, that is enough for today, I have to get some sleep now! Hi to all the
