Hallo liebe Teddies und Teddiefreunde auf der ganzen Welt,
Susie meldet sich mal wieder aus Kalifornien. Dieses Mal aus dem Mt Lassen Volcano National Park. Der Park liegt im Norden von Kalifornien - der höchste Berg (Mt Lassen) ist 3187 m hoch. Der Nationalpark ist der am wenigsten besuchte in Kalifornien, aber hier liegt der beste Schnee. Mir kam die Idee, dass Höhentraining vielleicht gut für mich sei. Also hab ich mir ein paar Freunde geschnappt und wir haben uns gedacht, es sei vielleicht ganz lustig und spannend den Berg mit Cross-Country Skis zu erklimmen. Und natürlich im Schnee zu campen. Und ich kann nur sagen, es hat sich absolut gelohnt! Auch wenn man zuerst einmal mit 15kg auf dem Rücken den Berg hochkrackseln muss.
Auf dem ersten Bild seht ihr mich auf unserem Zelt, hier haben wir 2 Tage übernachtet.

Dear friends and fellow teddies all around the world,
Susie is saying hi again - this time from Mt Lassen in California. For those of you who do not know - Mt Lassen National Park is one of the least visited National Parks in California - but it gets the most snow! Lassen Peak is about 3,187 Meters (10,457 Feet) high. It is a former Volcanic Region, they had the last erruption in 1914.
Anyways, I figured some altitude training would do me good  - so I decided to spent three days in high altitude. I grabbed a some of my friends and we thought it would be fun to ascend the mountain with cross country skis. Camping in the snow included. Let me tell you, high altitude is very very tough for small cats like me - especially when you wear a 30pound backpack full of food and gear all the time. But at the same time - it is tons of fun.
The first picture is me on our tent - this is how it looks like when you camp in the snow. 

Aber bevor man das Zelt richtig aufbauen kann und es sich so richtig gemütlich machen kann, muss man erst mal eine Menge Schnee schippen. Hier seht ihr mich beim Schippen  - oder eher beim Sonnenbaden wenn ich mal ne Pause brauchte...

And in order to send up a tent and make it really comfy in the snow, you have to shovel a lot of snow away...this is me shovelling (or rather taking a break and enjoying the sun in between hard work).

Ja, natürlich waren wir auch Skifahren...Ich glaube, wenn ich wieder in Deutschland bin, dann bin ich die fitteste Ironkatze der Welt! Ich weiß, die Skier sind etwas zu groß, aber was will man machen??? Mensch, 3 Tage Auf - und Abstieg ist ganz schön anstrengend!

And of course, yes, we did some skiing. I bet I will be the fittest ironcat when I get back to Germany! I know, the skis were a bit too big for me - but what can you do??? I can tell you, three days climbing is really exhausting...

Ok, das war es mal wieder von mir. Bleibt mir nur noch zu sagen: Life is good!!!
PS: ich wünschte, ich würde ein wenig mehr lachen auf den Bildern...das ist, was Höhentraining aus kleinen Katzen machen kann!!!
